Firewalking: a Journey of Transformation & Self Discovery
I’m ECSTATIC to report that I’ve had the most incredible, transformative experience of my life and am wanting to share some of the highlights with you! I recently graduated from a Firewalking Instructor Training (aka FIT), where I received my official certification from Master Firewalking Instructors Kevin Axtell & Tolly Burkan.
Tolly is Kevin’s mentor & the man who taught Firewalking to Tony Robbins himself. They are both so humble, funny & wise… what an honor and a pleasure it was!!!
Throughout my life, I’ve overcome tremendous difficulties in order to become a truly happy person. At 19 years old, I had a sudden awakening which shattered my misery and put me on a journey of self discovery. Since then, I’ve spent years studying a multitude of paths of personal development on the road to this level of personal satisfaction.
My explorations in excellence have included training in Meditation, Kung Fu, Yoga, Ninjitsu, Vipassana, Flow Arts, Mind-Body Medicine, Psychology & even practical applications of Quantum Physics. The amazing thing is that the FIT truly tied it all together for me. It focused on so many concepts which are at the heart of those practices, and the lessons felt totally true to my experience of life.
Not only was I shown the ways to build & tend a fire to safely conduct a Firewalk, but we were taught how to facilitate Glasswalking, a Trust Fall, Arrow, Board & Brick Breaking, Rebar Bending & (drum roll please…) how to Put a 5” needle through your hand… without bleeding or crying ; )
Quite naturally, we had to participate in all of these activities before being certified to teach them, and the course taught me so many lessons truly demonstrating how EVERYTHING holding us back from achieving the life we want for ourselves is really in our minds. My main takeaways include the incredible power of:
Arriving early for everything
Paying full & complete attention to the moment
Staying present to the internal feelings arising when making choices
How there is time for everything (fast/slow, pleasure/challenge, giving/receiving)
How to stay emotionally aware no matter what the external environment is like
Being TOTALLY ok that I’ll never figure it out… because that IS figuring it out
It’s always been my greatest wish to share the wisdom I was taught on my journey and open a path for others to experience the love I have in my heart for this life. This training has given me innumerable tools for sharing my ecstatic joy with others. I’m so excited to empower people to perform these inconceivable exercises, as I believe that it takes the willingness to face fear and darkness to truly find love and walk in the light.
What’s the next step?!? I’m going to include the essence of this fantastic material in my SkyFire Arts Academy classes!!! I’m starting to teach again January 21 with a 3 hour Intro Workshop. Then, starting Feb 5th, I’m teaching Phase One, which is a 6 Week Series every Monday night 7:30-9:30. I’m holding these events at the most amazing holistic health & wellness center I know of… The Station Colab! The ultimate goal is to offer people who are committed to their personal development path the chance to conquer a primal fear… and dance with lightning using Tesla coils!

Throwing lightning promotes sustainability?
I received a question recently on social media asking about how our art is supposed to promote ecological sustainability. After responding, I thought I should add my post to our website so I can refer people to it when they ask this very reasonable question in future:
“That’s a great question, and I can only hope everyone reading this thinks the same of my answer~;-}> I’ll start by using an analogy… Al Gore, to promote his film An Inconvenient Truth, clocked a great deal of flight hours. Looked at as an isolated element, one could clearly say that his travel schedule wasn’t ecologically friendly.
However, looked at as a whole, one can conclude that the overall impact his film had far outweighed the cost. In Ecology-speak, we are working towards having our Energy Return on Energy Invested (ERoEI) Sustainable and even Regenerative. Our project, while admittedly still quite far from having even a neutral carbon footprint, is designed ultimately to make us carbon positive once we reach a certain tipping point… How?
Like Al Gore’s movie, we intend to reach a great deal of people with a crucial message: Lasting happiness & real fulfillment comes from understanding the true nature of energy and taking responsibility for how you’re using it every day. If you don’t show people how it’s in their interests to behave responsibly towards the environment, it’s far more challenging to encourage sustainable behavior. So how do we establish this connection?
Quantum Physics has demonstrated that all matter is energy in one form or another, that it’s all connected, and that our conscious mind affects it by awareness alone. We wish to share the fact that this most modern, sophisticated form of physical science has verified a model of reality which has been in existence since ancient times, and facilitate a shift in our cultural paradigm whereby unsustainable practices will organically fall away… like a snake’s skin when the time is right.
There’s far more to that piece of our puzzle than I can go into here, but some practical elements I haven’t mentioned include 1) collaborations & partnerships with sustainable energy companies 2) a full-scale mythological circus production conveying our message through interactive storytelling 3) a midway/foyer[marketplace] that serves as a bridge for audience members to adopt sustainable lifestyle practices & 4) an online platform for tracking how much impact we’ve had on the lifestyle of our audience members and demonstrating our positive, overall carbon footprint.
Thank you so much for your very reasonable question… I’ve been waiting for you! For the more skeptically minded reader with questions about how I just qualified the nature of reality itself, please refer to the book The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra… and be ready for a long trip down the rabbit hole. Please say hi to Alice for me, we’re good friends~;-}>”

SkyFire Logo
Introducing the SkyFire Arts logo!
The concept was designed by our Creative Director, Michael Ravenwood and the drawing is by Abhi Thati.
The eye in the center represents our consciousness, which is the thing that quantum physicists have discovered transforms potentiality & probability into physical reality. The wings represent a relationship to the primal, animal world, the ability to ride the sky and freedom. The fire and lightning symbolize a connection with the raw power of the elements: their light, warmth, and energy corresponding to insight/inspiration, encouragement/compassion, and change/transformation. The various design elements represent forms of cultural refinement in which both contemporary knowledge & ancient wisdom are both highly valued. The lotus is a symbol of how the beauty in the world arises from & is nourished by decay, or how compassion arises from suffering. It also reflects the toroid, which is a shape that has been associated with the design of our physical universe and represents the singularity through which all things are created and into which all things ultimately return.
We hope you enjoy our new aesthetic!
