Wow, what an amazing weekend we had at EDC Vegas this year!! We performed one of our new shows, Maelstrom, which features 3 masterful lightning performers weaving together our high voltage entertainment with theatrical storytelling. We customized this show to speak to Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect (or PLUR), a set of principles associated with rave culture.
Check out some shots of our performance below. We will be posting more on the @skyfirearts Instagram and Facebook soon!
SkyFire Arts at Sea World May 2018
Our team had a blast at this one! The Electric Eel Roller Coaster at SeaWorld San Diego opened this July 2018, and our Tesla coil lightning performance launched it at a VIP Grand Opening Event! This was the tallest, fastest roller coaster in the park’s history and in the entire San Diego area.

Check out some shots from our recent show at Sea World San Diego. Our lightning show triggered the ignition of their new Electric Eel Roller coaster at their VIP Grand Opening Gala. Jim Saey, owner of Premier Rides who built the coaster, said that this was BY FAR the best opening ceremony of a ride he’s ever attended. ❤️⚡️
Tesla Coil Lightning Dance at EDC Vegas 2018
Our performers dance with lightning generated by a giant Tesla coil. The arcs that they manipulate are 5000 degrees Fahrenheit, half as hot as the surface of the sun.
We’re back at EDC Las Vegas this year with an epic Trio Lightning Dancing and Throwing show.
Here are some shots from our first night!
We’re headed into Day 2! If you’re at EDC come by our stage on Electric Avenue!

Huge thank you to Insomniac for bringing us here. They have put together yet another extraordinary festival, and are expecting 400,000 attendees this weekend.

We are excited to share this video from our recent performance at 5tardium in Korea! Michael Ravenwood lights a fire-sword with one million volts of electricity to initiate the performance which served as the peak of the festival. Standing atop a 9 foot platform and completely surrounded by 25,000 audience members, he hurls 10 foot arcs of electricity to the beats of electronica… and the crowd goes wild!
5tardium created an thrilling event exploring myth through innovative technology and exotic performances. SkyFireArts performed in the center of the Olympic stadium, and all 5 stages surrounding the show were shut down to focus attention on our performance. In addition to a neo-tribal warrior wielding a flaming sword and the Tesla coil’s white-hot arcs, our show featured pyrotechnics, laser light shows, and 15 huge IMAG screens. We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring our unique offering to such an amazing new level in Korea.
8 PHENOMENAL FESTIVAL DANCE TROUPES FROM 2015
We are extremely honored to be named in the top 8 most phenomenal festival dance troupes of 2015! See excerpt from their Fest 300's article below!
“Perhaps the most electrifying performance in the music festivals scene right now occurs at Electric Daisy Carnival. In addition to aerialists, acrobatics, stilt walkers and pyrotechnics, SkyFire hosts a cavalcade of martial arts-inspired dancers wielding weapons imbued with fire and lightning. That’s right: lightning! A massive Tesla coil slings bolts of electricity clear across the stage while acrobats catch lightning to spark fires and ignite pyrotechnical explosions. In fact, the equipment is so highly charged with electricity that it hums and crackles like a wagon-sized bug zapper. That’s why, when these wizards perform at Electric Daisy Carnival, one can’t help but appreciate the mastery required to safely produce such a mesmerizing show.” – Fest300.com, Graham Berry

10 Unforgettable Moments from EDC Las Vegas
We are so honored to be names one of the 10 Unforgetable Moments from EDC this year by Magnetic Magazine! See excerpt from their article below!
“We Gonna Rock Down To Electric Avenue. So, let’s talk about Mr. Tesla Dude for a second because he deserves a standing ovation after the eyelids he peeled back over all three nights. He controlled electricity with his hands, then proceeded to control it with a staff. Then some sticks. Then his mind. We trippy mane.”

The Best (and Worst) of EDC Las Vegas 2015 in LA Weekly
What a trip! LA Weekly has named our show on of the best moments of EDC Vegas this year!

Best: The Tesla Coil Guy
I know, I know: You’ve seen a million Tesla coils at Coachella and Burning Man. They probably sell the goddamn things at Sharper Image by now. But the performer working a small but vigorous coil at EDC was truly something special. Clad in head-to-toe chain mail and twirling two metal staffs like some demented Cirque du Soleil reject, Tesla coil guy made the lightning dance from his fingertips to his staffs and back again with such precision, the frequency of the coil’s electrical whine actually seemed to match the buzzy trance soundtrack that accompanied his choreographed routine. He also had some weird positive-affirmation voiceovers that didn’t really make any sense, but all that arcing electricity was so spectacular that it hardly mattered. — Andy Hermann
